Yellow is a bright and cheerful color that is often associated with the sun and warmth. It is the color of lemonade, sunshine, and daffodils. When you see the color yellow, you might feel happy and energized. Some people even say that yellow can help to boost your mood and make you feel more positive. There are yellow things everywhere at the beach. Have you ever built a sand-castle at the beach with a yellow bucket and spade? In summer the yellow sand can become very hot when the golden sun shines. Have you ever walked barefoot across hot sand? Ouch! Sometime you have to hop and jump over the sand to stop your feet from burning!

Canaries are famous for their bright yellow feathers and their beautiful singing voices. That's why lots of people keep them as pets. They are intelligent birds. You can teach them to do tricks, like sitting on your hand, landing on a perch, or flying around the room. Canaries love eating fruit like bananas, grapes, strawberries, pears, apples and peaches.

Bananas are colorful, tasty and dangerous! When a banana becomes ripe its skin changes color from green, to yellow, to brown. When you peel a banana, remember to put the banana skin in the trash. The skins are slippery and if you leave them on the floor someone might slip and fall. You wouldn't want to cause an accident!

Have you ever been snorkeling? Imagine you're on holiday at a beach in Hawaii. It's a warm sunny day and you walk out over the sand. You put on your diving mask and snorkel, and then dive into the warm blue water. As you float in the sea you look down and see a group of yellow fish swimming in and out of bright coral. Wouldn't that be amazing!

Are yellow frogs poisonous? They can be! One frog called the golden poison frog is the most poisonous animal on the planet! So, it's even more poisonous than poison snakes and spiders. The golden poison frog is only 6 centimeters long and lives in the Colombian rainforest. Its poison comes through the frog's skin and stops bigger animals from eating it. So, don't touch a golden poison frog and definitely don't eat it!

Fall is a beautiful season, when the color of the leaves changes on the trees. As the weather becomes colder the leaves change from green to bright red and yellow. It's a great time to go for walks in the country! Do you have a forest, a wood or a park near you where you like to go walking? If you're too late the leaves might turn brown and fall off the trees.

Can lizards be yellow? Oh, yes, they can! Yellow spotted night lizards live in hot countries like Mexico. They have yellow spots and come out at night to eat insects, like ants, spider and mosquitos. Yellow leopard geckos are almost completely yellow. Another kind of lizard, called a chameleon, changes its color to hide from its enemies. A chameleon could change its color to yellow to hide on a banana.
